What is the Biggest Loser Challenge?
Who is able to join a team in the competition?
Competition Rules:
1. It will be your responsibility to consult your health care professional before making any significant changes to your dietary habits or your physical activity routines.
2. Must be and remain a member in good standing with the Sterling Community Wellness Center.
3. All teams must be registered no later than Monday, October 26th, 2015 (see registration details below for more information).
4. Please form your own 4-person team. You must start the contest as a team of four.
5. Event directors retain the right to not allow someone to participate. For example: pregnant or underweight individuals.
6. Exercise and diet programs are up to each individual and their team.
7. No weight loss surgery allowed during the 12-week challenge.
Weigh-Ins1. Team members need not weigh in together.
2. Individual team members must weigh in each Wednesday from Wednesday, November 4th (first weigh in) through Wednesday, January 27th at the Sterling Community Wellness Center. A member of the Wellness Center staff will do the weigh in with you in the privacy of the office using the electronic scale. You will be told your weight loss, however you will not be told the weight loss of other team members or teams (if they want to share with you that is up to them). We will display the weight loss percentages of each team by week.
3. If you miss a weigh in, you will have a zero weight loss recorded for that week.
4. If you miss more than 3 consecutive weigh ins without prior arrangement or exception by the Wellness Center Director, you will automatically be disqualified.
5. If a team member gains weight, a fine of $1 per pound will be assessed. For example: if you gain 1.7 lbs. you will be assessed a $2 fine.
6. No disrobing or loading up allowed during weight ins. T-shirts and shorts are recommended for weigh-ins and we recommend no shoes.
Registration of Teams
1. Form a team of 4 people. A team fee of $100 or $25 per team member must be paid prior to the first weigh in.
2. Choose a unique name for the team. Example Doughboys; Crunch time; Big Belly
Muffin Tops.
3. All members of the team must complete a health form and a liability waiver for the
Wellness Center prior to the first weigh-in and must maintain a membership with the Sterling Community Wellness Center for the entire length of contest.
4. Team members cannot be replaced.
5. Team members who have dropped out may rejoin their team as long as their fines and fees are paid up.
6. If a team member drops out, their weight loss percentages will be calculated into the team’s totals. For example: if in week 3 they drop out, their weight loss for the team will reflect at zero for weeks 4 through 8.
7. Teams must be registered by Monday, October 26th.
* Any disputes will be decided by the Director of the Sterling Community Wellness Center.
The winning team will be the team who achievesthe greatest percentage of weight loss.
- A 12 Week weight loss/wellness competition
- The challenge begins on Wednesday, November 4th and ends on Wednesday, January 27th
- Teams of FOUR will compete to achieve the highest percentage of weight loss
- Cash and prizes (based on participation) will be disbursed to the top team and top individual at the end of the program. Individual starting & ending weights will not be announced or posted at any time (including the finale). Team percentages or total weight loss may be announced or posted.

- A high school student under the age of 18 with the written consent of a legal guardian
